The driver of a passenger car was traveling straight through a busy intersection on a green light. A second driver was traveling in the opposite direction and was on the opposite side of the intersection. Without warning, the second driver turned left directly into the path of the straight through driver and a collision occurred. In the police report, the investigating officer wrote that the left turning driver said he had a green arrow. However, the first driver knew that the left turning driver did not have a green arrow because the light was green for straight through traffic. Further investigation revealed that the left turning driver did not claim or say that he had a green arrow. He admitted that he simply turned left when it was not safe to do so. After clearing up the confusion, the case was resolved.
